2012 Brings New Event to Big Bear Lake’s Village Shopping District – Village Winterfest – Feb. 3-5, 2012

The new Winterfest in the Village is touted by its professional promoters, XOS Productions, as a Fashion, Music and Sports event and is most definitely geared toward the 18-25 year age demographic and is sponsored by the Big Bear Mountain Ski Resorts and the Big Bear Lake Resort Association.

My new year’s resolution is to post more articles on the “Best of Big Bear Lake” in 2012 than in past years.

I’ll make my start here with Lagonita Lodge. Located between Mallard Bay and Big Bear Lake just a couple of minutes by car from the Village, Big Bear’s Shopping and Dining District.

Lagonita Lodge has been on my list for a couple of years now, mostly because I personally get so many positive comments from our customers on there Lagonita stay and how they repeatedly choose Lagonita Lodge for their annual getaway to the Southern California mountains.

Winter in Big Bear Lake means Skiing, Snowboarding and the Alpine Slide but everyone knows… ‘Tricks are for kids’. That doesn’t mean the rest of us don’t enjoy getting out in the fresh air and getting some exercise. Tamara and I have really enjoyed our time snowshoeing in the Big Bear area for several years now. The cost of getting set up is very manageable and we can break away from work for a couple of hours and get a great winter workout at any level we choose. Today’s snowshoes are easy to use, lightweight and durable and really work.

So while the kids are on the Ski Slopes, you can get out and do some Snowshoeing on the many accessible trails in the Big Bear Lake area.
